25 Absurd Laws

Is it really a law???

  1. In West Virginia, only babies can ride in a baby carriage. 
  2. A barber is not to advertise prices in the State of Georgia.
  3. In Michigan, it is against the law for a lady to lift her skirt more than 6 inches while walking through a mud puddle. 
  4. The law states that more than 3000 sheep cannot be herded down Hollywood Blvd. at any one time. 
  5. In Virginia, the Code of 1930 has a statute which prohibits corrupt practices or bribery by any person other than political candidates.
  6. In Salt Lake County, Utah, it’s illegal to walk down the street carrying a violin in a paper bag.
  7. In Oklahoma, you can be arrested for making ugly faces at a dog.
  8. In Florida men seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown can be fined.
  9. In New York City, it’s illegal for a restaurant to call a sandwich a “corned beef sandwich” if it’s made with white bread and mayonnaise.
  10. In San Francisco, California it is unlawful to use used underwear to wipe off cars in a car wash. - 
  11. In France, it is against the law to sell an “E.T” doll. They have a law forbidding the sale of dolls that do not have human faces 
  12. In Florida, it is illegal to fart in a public place after 6 P.M. on Thursdays. 
  13. In England, it is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament. 
  14. In New Jersey, answering a traffic cop who asks “Do you know why I pulled you over?” by saying,“If you don’t know, I’m not going to tell you” is an automatic $300 fine. 
  15. In California, anyone caught selling a “smoothie” that has lumps is breaking the law.
  16. In London, it is illegal to flag down a taxi if you have the plague.
  17. In Los Angeles, It is not legal to bathe two babies at the same time in the same tub.
  18. In California  in riverside, Kissing on the lips, unless both parties wipe their lips with carbonized rose water, is against the local health ordinance.
  19. Colorado Water laws prohibit the use of rain barrels or any methods to catch rain for use. They claim the rain has already been legally allocated to the state and individual may not capture and use water to which he/she does not have a right
  20. In Baltimore, It is illegal to take a lion to the movies. 
  21. In Mansfield, Anyone caught wearing sagging pants that expose underwear will be subject to a fine of up to $150 plus court costs
  22. In Greene, During a concert, it is illegal to eat peanuts and walk backwards on the sidewalks
  23. In Oxford, It is unlawful for a woman to appear in public while unshaven. This includes legs and face.
  24. In Montpelier, No law was violated when 42 cyclists rode through Vermont's capital naked on May 14, 2009. The Barre-Montpelier Times Argus reported that Vermont has no ban on public nudity. Disrobing in public is a crime, but the cyclists disrobed before venturing out and would not be charged
  25. In Reno, It is unlawful for any person to carry on, conduct or maintain any marathon dancing or marathon walking
